GROOMED, 2016, 12:10 minutes, single-channel video. Grooming is a term typically used to describe transgressive, predatory behavior. The video rides this external behavior, internalized through the psyche and willfully performed through bodies. The scene and speech rides between sensible cultural critique and neurotic internal dialogue. Looking at a narration of soft-violence performed as rituals in grooming, cultural-transactional desire is performed through a rhythmic home waxing process. Questions around pain, agency, free will, narcissism, subjectivity, objectivity, desire and commerce are exposed to the viewer.  Filmed in Oslo, Norway, 2016.
