Virtual Material

“Film is light stamped in material time; material is a form of time.”

VIRTUAL MATERIAL, 2014 – ongoing, series of still and moving images and installations looking at the subject of technology as the imaginary and embodied realm of social psychology. The work in Virtual Material looks into relationships and tensions between subjectivity and objectivity by examining structures and processes in personal, public, image making as product during technocratic times. Somatic psychology and cultural environment are looked at to expose ways of thinking about the vision-body relationship. Water, movement, ritual, affect are used as subject and theme.
