A mio avviso, la pittura di Mari Amman si impone non come riproduzione formale, ma come fenomenologia del gesto, del tempo e della materia. Radicata in una profonda sensibilità sinestetica, l’artista rinuncia alla costrizione del disegno tradizionale per assecondare una “reologia del sublime”, dove la fluidità del colore diviene traccia corporea dello spazio e memoria biologica. Al contempo, questa astrazione lirica si trasforma in un rigoroso sito di scavo concettuale: attraverso l’uso sperimentale di pigmenti minerali puri e supporti grezzi, Amman supera i confini della pittura pura per legare indissolubilmente l’estetica a una profonda riflessione antropologica ed ecologica. Una pittura necessaria, in cui l’istanza etica incontra la purezza della materia e l’impatto della tecnocrazia sul paesaggio contemporaneo.

In my view, Mari Amman’s painting asserts itself not as a formal reproduction, but as a phenomenology of gesture, time, and matter. Rooted in a profound synesthetic sensibility, the artist eschews the constraints of traditional drawing to embrace a “rheology of the sublime,” where the fluidity of color becomes a bodily trace of space and a form of biological memory. At the same time, this lyrical abstraction transforms into a rigorous site of conceptual excavation: through the experimental use of pure mineral pigments and raw supports, Amman transcends the boundaries of pure painting, inextricably linking aesthetics to a profound anthropological and ecological reflection. Hers is a necessary art, where the ethical imperative meets the purity of matter and the impact of technocracy on the contemporary landscape.
